Conclusion

What We Have Learned From This Project:

While examining Kean Recreation's business process and information system Team 2 has learned a vast amount of information that will help run a successful business. With that being said down below are what each member has specifically learned while doing their research.
  1. How companies can use IS to create competitive advantages
    • According to the definition of MIS, information systems exist to help organizations achieve their strategies.  Some examples of information systems used by Kean Recreation would be social media IS, collaboration IS, and CS GOLD IS.  Social media information systems such as Instagram and Twitter are used in order to inform the study body about the upcoming sporting events that are held within the University.  Furthermore, upper-level management uses email to communicate knowledge regarding new policies to workers such as the hourly wage increasing to ten dollars an hour; New Jersey’s minimum wage is $8.60.
  2. The difference between dynamic and structure process
    • A dynamic processes is a informal and adaptable process that involve less structured decisions. While a structured process is formally defined that involve day to day operations.
  3. How important it is to have a competitive strategy
    • It's important to have a competitive strategy because it will help further the business's goals and it distinguishes a company form their competitors.
  4. The importance of a value of chain.
    • A network of value creating activities.
  5. Why social media is a important aspect of the business process
    • Social capital, in general, is understood as the material and symbolic reciprocates that exist in a social network. It is the investment in social relations with the expectation of returns in the marketplace (relations that have productive benefits). To increase their social capital, many people try to establish contacts and link to networks in an intentional and planned manner.
These behaviors of investment in social capital are called social networking and are individual decisions with important repercussions on personal well-being and socio-professional development.
