Problems

While analyzing Kean University's Recreation department we discovered that there are a couple issues regarding the information system, marketing through social media, and certain weight room policies.

Issues regarding IS
CS Gold V. 7 is a reliable IS but the inconvenience of requiring the program on your computer may be an issue towards some users. 
Marketing through Social Media

Kean Universities twitter page hasn't been active for about three weeks and only focuses on the athletic teams.  On the other hand, the Instagram page is active and posts every other day regarding any news about their facilities.  However, they aren't reaching out to their followers and the feed is quite bland.

Weight room policies/equipment

It's a common theme for the employee to get comfortable with their working environment, especially without supervision, and it seems to be the case at the D'Angola weight room.  The area attendants are careless when they are on duty which results in human errors.  Human errors such as unplugging the Cbord Mobile ID & Control Access or not resetting the alarm system.  When the Cbord Mobile ID and Control Access shuts down it is required to manually enter a code to reboot it or it won't process accordingly.  In addition, the majority of the equipment are outdated or out of service which discourages the students from entering the weight room.

Odyssey DirectTM

 Odyssey DirectTM is cloud based and a solution that requires a minimal amount of IT support. It presents similar skills that support attendance tracking, access control, and security that can be accessed through a web browser.  You wouldn't have to deal with the stress of installing a software; its the perfect solution for companies with limited resources.
Promotions and tips

Being active on social media helps active members be notified about current events.  Using the twitter page more frequently about the recreation department will result in more members inside the weight room. Another solution would be to improve the Instagram feed with more vibrant graphics or photos.  To increase engagement on social media the pages should have giveaways of Kean gear or include fitness tips for users. 
Regulations/Upgrades
Administrators need to be more strict with their policies by reminding the area attendants what they are expected to do and the consequences if you don't follow them.  The Recreation department should strive for a safe environment for the students that use the facilities.  A solution to persuade more people to use the weight room and to upgrade the the equipment at the same time would require upgraded the equipment with the Internet of things.  This would allow users to be more interactive in the gym and spark interests in different target markets.
